The ATEM session on developing University policies strongly recommended that policies/guidelines etc should be developed to reflect what is comfortably achieveable in a policy area; not to create a governance structure to enforce change by requiring compliance.

Melanie Pittard mentioned that the MySource Matrix open source CMS system UTAS is investing in supported by Squiz Net, has both a Hobart office and a whole of (Tas) government contract. So there is a local development community that can be drawn upon.

ITR will be trialling MS Office Communications Suite with 100 users (perhaps just ITR staff) very shortly. Melaine Pittard felt this might be an equivalent solution to Elluminate.
